Reverend Al Sharpton Tells a Bitter Truth About Michael Jackson
Andy Cohen from Bravo TV had a rare opportunity to ask Reverend Al Sharpton, the civil rights activist, what truth about the King of Pop would shock many people.
Al Sharpton, who was close to Michael, didn't need to think about his answer:
"He was very, very sensitive. When many of his friends left him, he was deeply hurt."
Sharpton claims this truth became apparent at Michael's 2009 memorial service.
"In his final years, he felt that many of the people he had helped — and I mean big stars — weren't returning his calls. And all these people were sitting in the front row at his memorial, doing interviews with the media, and these were people who weren't speaking to Michael, who had abandoned him. The only thing I could do was not invite them to speak at the service because Michael was deeply wounded by these people."
