Beyoncé wrote on her website:

"When I was just starting out, my first producer would make me watch Michael’s performance of WHO'S LOVING YOU for hours and hours. What he wanted me to learn was Michael’s soul. When he sang, you could hear his soul. He was just a child who didn’t have experience with love, but love was flowing through him. For whatever reason, his singing could stir emotions more than it did in adults. It was so natural and pure. He was the coolest of the cool. These things are God-given. Michael taught me that sometimes you have to forget about technique and rely on feeling. Michael Jackson changed me and helped me become the artist I am today. Thank you, Michael. I’ll always love you. B."

Beyoncé also dedicated a page on her website to a large photo of Michael to congratulate him on his birthday.
