The photos were taken on July 18 this year during a student graduation ceremony, shortly after Paris enrolled at the facility. The person who sold the photos to the media also reported Paris's personal information, stating that Paris is using the alias "Frankie" at the school. Radar Online, while publishing these photos and revealing Paris's alias at the school, claimed it was withholding the name of the school "to protect Paris's privacy." One source told Radar Online that Paris was in good spirits during the celebration and was wearing a bracelet on her arm to cover the scar from a cut on her wrist. It has been reported that internet access at the school is severely restricted, and students can earn points to use the internet, a phone, or television, or to spend time with other students. These points are earned through good behavior, completing schoolwork, and punctuality. Other students at the school have had similar experiences to Paris's and participate in both group and individual counseling sessions with a psychologist. Some students recognize Paris, but many do not. It has been reported that Debbie Rowe, Paris's mother, intends to file a lawsuit against those responsible for releasing the photos. These are the first images published of Paris since her suicide attempt at the end of spring this year. Debbie Rowe has emphasized that her intention to sue should be publicized so as to deter a recurrence. In the meantime, Paris — who was supposed to be recovering away from the public eye — has been made a victim of Randy Jackson's rumor-mongering and of those who, by releasing these photos, are trying to discredit Randy's words. One of the photos, showing Paris alongside a graduating student, had circulated on Twitter and on Paris fan websites a day before Randy Jackson's comments, but it appears that Randy Jackson was the reason additional photos of Paris leaked widely to the media.
