Katherine Jackson Talks About Paris in Hello Magazine Interview
Katherine Jackson, Michael's mother and legal guardian of his three children, told Hello magazine that Paris is now happier than she has been at any point since her father's passing.
She attempted suicide in early June and was taken to a hospital. She is now enrolled in a boarding school outside of California. "Paris is doing much better. She is in a good place and is receiving the help she needs. The treatments are very good, really good. She is my child. It's hard for me, very hard. I just want these children to be happy. The night Michael passed, Paris was crying and saying she wanted to go see her father — that she didn't want to be alive without him."
Katherine also said that not a day goes by without her thinking of her dear son Michael. She says he was a very good father and a very good son.
Katherine acknowledges that her approach to raising Michael's children has been different from his. Michael kept them hidden from the public eye, while Katherine has involved them in television interviews. The children wore masks on their faces while living with their father, something Katherine has no desire to continue.
Katherine: "Michael kept them covered. I thought about it and decided not to do that. But Michael had a good reason for doing it. He was trying to protect their privacy."
Now, wherever the children go, paparazzi photographers follow them — but when Michael was alive, no one recognized them.
Katherine says Michael's children are incredibly polite, a quality they inherited from their father.
Katherine: "He instilled good behavioral values in them, but the generation has changed. I don't understand these social networks. They're always busy on their phones."
