Police: Paris Jackson Wanted to Stay Alive
Police classified Paris Jackson’s act of cutting her hand as an “attempted suicide,” but said that in their belief she wanted to live.
Police believe that if Paris truly intended to end her life, she wouldn’t have called a counseling center and informed them about her attempt. Her call to the center raised the alarm. The person who spoke with Paris sent an ambulance to her home in Calabasas.
When the emergency doctors arrived at the home, Paris was alert and accepted—without noise or arguing—that she be taken to the hospital on a stretcher. She had taken a large amount of the painkiller ibuprofen and injured her right forearm using a special kitchen meat cleaver. Some reports say she had cuts on her wrist.
It’s said Paris’s intention in calling the counseling center was to ensure that after her suicide attempt, she would be saved. Police think her action was a cry for help from this teenager.
The Jackson family has remained completely silent about the matter and only asked that their privacy be respected.
