Kevin Boyle, one of Catherine Jackson’s lawyers, said about this: "What are they supposed to do? They have no other choice. AEG controls all the arenas. Should they stop performing?"
Roger Friedman writes in a note: "Their lawyer said the boys have no other option and that AEG is the only concert promoter in the world. I don’t think they’ve heard anything about Live Nation or other companies. Maybe you think it would be difficult or inappropriate for Jermaine, Tito, Marlon, and Jackie to be at Staples Center. Working for AEG probably looks bad. But that’s not how they see it. Wherever there’s money, they’re there."
Previously, the brothers’ last appearance at Staples Center was when they carried their brother’s coffin. Jermaine, who as a tribute to his brother copies Michael’s stage outfits from luxury clothing, had spoken harshly against AEG in his book. But recently, in an interview about why he signed a contract with AEG—which he calls his brother’s killer—he said that it’s a matter of business and business is business:
"These lawsuits come and go; what remains is the music."
It’s not far-fetched to think that the brothers might dedicate their Staples Center performance to Michael.
