Objection to the publication of a nude photo of Michael Jackson on the cover of National Enquirer

Last week, the National Enquirer—well known among fans for spreading lies and publishing negative news about Michael Jackson—ran a semi-nude photo of Michael on its magazine cover and also set the same image as the background for its Twitter page. This is the same photo that was shown in the course of the murder case involving Conrad Murray, in the Los Angeles court, and that was also picked up by the media (News). In this photo, taken one day after Michael’s death, his naked body is displayed on a forensic medical examination table. The private parts of his body have been blurred out with black tape, and he appears very thin. Printing this photo has sparked widespread outrage among fans. There is not much time left until the start of the trial involving AEG, and the media will make the most of these days. A number of fans are collecting signatures by preparing an online petition to deliver their protest to the magazine’s editor. The petition says: "While four years have passed since Michael’s death, the media are still dissecting his life. Our request is just one thing. Using this photo in the National Enquirer—besides being wrong and unethical—will be extremely painful for Michael’s three children.
