Interview with The Guardian (1): Michael Jackson’s brothers brought the Unity tour to the UK

Years before the young sons of the band One Direction were born, the five boys of the famous Jackson family—who later changed their name to the Jacksons (Randy took Jermaine’s place in the Jacksons)—were stealing the hearts of teenage girls. The Jackson 5 made music album sales charts explode—and so did the walls of girls’ rooms. Their posters were everywhere, and their names were on every tongue. Among these five, one of them—whom you know very well—Michael, rose to the constellation skies and never came down (as recalled by Motown company manager, Berry Gordy). The other four brothers, however, never reached the success of their younger brother. Of course, quiet and soft-spoken Tito found his way in music and became a very good guitarist. Marlon became the loyal man of the family: he devoted himself to his wife, children, and grandchildren, and also became a successful businessman. Jackie divorced twice, had two children, and is currently the manager of two music companies in Las Vegas. Jermaine, though, was more active than the rest—both in his private life and in his work. He experienced many loves, became the father of multiple children, and carved out a media presence for himself. Jermaine takes part in many interviews and has a lot to say. The brothers will be in Birmingham and Manchester today and tomorrow; the next day they will take the stage in Glasgow, Scotland, and on March 2 and 3 in Bournemouth, and finally in London.
