Mat Horne: “For Me, Christmas Is Michael Jackson’s Bad LP”

(22-12-2012) When he was asked to share his festive memories, British actor and comedian Mat Horne (“Gavin and Stacey”) revealed that for him, Christmas is Michael’s “BAD” album:

“Michael Jackson’s Bad LP. Everything about Christmas makes me feel nostalgic! As soon as the first tinsel appears in shops — you know, just after Easter — it all begins. I love buying gifts for people anyway, so I guess it’s that point, for me, when I think, ‘Oh, that would be a good Christmas present for him/her.’

The item that makes me think of Christmas is Michael Jackson’s Bad LP. I remember wanting and getting it one year and it was such an iconic cover anyway, but the distinctive image and gatefold vinyl always reminds me of Christmas.

I play it a lot but it’s not something I tend to do at Christmas. But, I always wonder if I’ll ever get the same feeling of joy from a Christmas gift again — or indeed, if some young music-head out there is getting the equivalent gift.”
