Michael Jackson’s Father Has Had a Stroke

Joe Jackson, Michael’s 83-year-old father, suffered a mild stroke early Thursday morning and was taken to the hospital in the city where he lives—Las Vegas. His condition and mental state are described as favorable, and he is expected to leave the hospital today. CNN says Joe Jackson had suffered two other strokes in the past five years.

The Washington Post, quoting a spokesperson for Joe Jackson, Angel Hwangsky, wrote that just after midnight on Wednesday, Joe Jackson called a friend after having a headache and experiencing problems standing and walking. The friend then took him to the hospital. According to the spokesperson, Joe’s condition was good throughout Thursday, and he is expected to be released soon. The Washington Post also said that Catherine Jackson, his wife, is currently on her way to the hospital to join him.

In another report, Roger Friedman wrote that Joe Jackson, accompanied by his magician friend Majestic, went to the hospital.
