Jackson Five animation set coming to DVD and Blu-ray

Classic Media, an American animation company, has announced that on January 15 of next year it will release the Jackson Five animated series (Jackson Five: The Completed Animated Series) on DVD and Blu-ray.

The set of 23 complete cartoon episodes featuring the Jackson brothers (Michael, Marlon, Jackie, Tito, and Jermaine) will be released on disc for the first time. Each episode in this set includes two songs from the Jackson Five. In these cartoons, the five brothers get involved in fun adventures. This animation is, in fact, a fictional story of the Jackson brothers’ career.

The DVD of this set is priced at $32.99, and the Blu-ray is priced at $39.

This animation aired on ABC from Saturday mornings, September 11, 1971 to October 14, 1972. The series was produced by Rankin/Bass and Motan. In the 1980s, from 1984 to 1985—when Michael enjoyed the exceptional success of the Thriller album—these cartoons were broadcast again on television.

This cartoon series was illustrated in the Helms and Beechler studios in London and in the Moro studio in Barcelona, Spain. The animation was directed by the American-Spanish director Robert Balser.
