Bad 25 documentary hits theaters starting next week
The official Michael Jackson website reports that Spike Lee’s Bad 25 documentary will be released in limited screenings in the United States starting next week.
The film will be shown for one week starting October 19 in AMC theaters in New York, and starting October 26 for one week in Chinese theaters in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
The film will also air on Germany’s VOX network on October 20.
Spike Lee, who has also been nominated for an Oscar, has once again been praised by film and cinema critics with Bad 25. Bad 25 was also screened at two festivals: Venice and Toronto. The film is an attempt to depict the production process of one of the biggest albums in music history—and one of the most influential works by Michael Jackson.
The trustees of the Michael Jackson Foundation have said that Spike Lee was their only option for making a film about Michael.
