That red jacket is real, and so is that smiling yellow face mask. On Sunday, London’s fashion scene witnessed one of the most “Michael”-like shows. Philip Treacy, the British designer of bizarre hats, put together a full-on show and asked Lady Gaga to open the runway for his 2013 spring hat collection. Also there was Alek Wek, the beautiful Sudanese supermodel whose most important childhood memory is listening to the trailer song of Michael Jackson—an audio that militants would bring with them as they marched through her war-torn country’s streets. But how do you make a spring hat fashion show “Michael”? Treacy had a brilliant idea: he borrowed Michael Jackson’s clothes. When it comes to Michael Jackson fashion, how could you ignore his dazzling military jackets? Captain E.O. shirt, the Scrеam video outfit, the Thriller jacket, the golden History set, that black-silver ensemble—and of course the black magic of Bad, which has been all the talk these days. Alongside his other outfits, these will be sold at an auction in Beverly Hills on December 2. Treacy, taking advantage of this opportunity, invited these outfits onto his fashion runway so he could pair them with his interesting hats. And that’s how Treacy’s hat-wearing models walked onto the runway one after another in clothes that once shone on the body of the pop legend. Treacy told The New York Times: "This is the most exciting show I’ve ever done. It was a joy that we were able to put Michael Jackson’s clothes on the models.
