Roger Friedman: This is a war
Roger Friedman has released more details about the Jacksons’ alleged attack on Michael’s children’s home:
"Randy got into a confrontation with one of the guards at the house, and Janet also behaved in a very aggressive manner. They all had cameras in their hands to record everything that was happening. It’s been said that a dispute broke out between two members of the family—those two people should be Trent and Randy Jackson. Trent Jackson is their cousin. Seven or eight years ago, Michael Jackson hired Trent to work for him, to serve Catherine and take care of her—working as his personal driver, delivering his messages, and basically doing whatever Catherine wants. All in all, Trent carried out his duties well.
If I were Germain and Randy, I would have sent Catherine back to her home as soon as possible so she could carry out her legal duty—overseeing Michael’s children.
Janet Jackson has always been one of the most proper people among her siblings, but today, according to news received, she went with Germain and Randy to her mother’s rented house to take Michael’s children out of there, while Catherine—probably under duress—is not in the city.
She had previously signed a letter calling for the resignation of the trustees of the Michael Foundation. By signing this letter, she agreed that Michael hated the current trustees of his foundation—John Branca and John McClain. John McClain shaped Janet’s career in 1984 during the album ‘Control’ (McClain was the producer of the album. It introduced Janet to the world as one of the pioneers of the R&B style and became a turning point in her career.) A few years later, McClain tried to win Michael’s approval—along with Janet’s and the other brothers’—to join a family tour.

Michael and Janet — the ‘Scream’ music video
Has Janet lost her mind? Or is she, like Michael’s brothers, in need of money? Janet hasn’t released a successful commercial song in years. She currently has no contract with any recording company. Her latest album, ‘Discipline’ from 2008, sold only 450,000 copies and even failed to achieve a gold sales certification. Her previous album, ‘20 Y.O,’ sold 650,000 copies. What about her latest successful album? ‘Damita Jo,’ released in 2004—eight years ago. And singles? She hasn’t had a successful single since 2001. ‘Someone to Call My Lover’ is from 11 years ago.
Is Janet financially in trouble? Given the decline in album sales and fewer tours, the answer is yes. On top of that, most of her songs were written by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Her recent songs are also mostly based on other people’s ideas, and Janet has paid for the use of them. Although Janet has name recognition, she has drifted far from her peak days, and people like Rihanna and Beyoncé have taken her place.
Of course, she can still make money from her tours. Her ‘Number Ones’ tour in 2011 earned sixty million dollars, and according to Pollstar, it ranked 45th among the top 50 concerts of the year.
In summary, perhaps this change in Janet’s behavior isn’t that surprising. The fact that she tried to remove Michael’s children from the house in her mother’s absence means something has shifted in her mind. She’s trying to run things, and she asks herself: what have others done for me?
This is a war.
Randy, Germain, and Janet made a huge mistake by standing in the line of the enemies of Michael’s children. The kids are Michael’s only heirs. When Catherine passes away, the share she currently receives from Michael’s wealth will be cut off, and all the wealth will go to Michael’s children. They won’t forget the recent events.
