The Jackson Brothers Will Hold a Summer Tour

The older brothers of Michael Jackson—Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, and Marlon—have announced that this summer they will hold a summer tour in North America titled the Unity Tour. This will be the first tour by the brothers since the Victory Tour in 1984, with one difference: Randy and Michael also participated in the Victory Tour.

The Jackson Brothers’ Unity Tour will begin on June 18 in Louisville, Kentucky, and will continue through July in various cities across the United States.

Jackie Jackson says:

“This is a dream coming true. I can’t believe this wish is finally being fulfilled. There’s nothing like the brothers coming together again on stage. It will be exciting for our fans around the world. I know that at every concert, Michael’s spirit will be with us.”

The Jackson brothers had long dreamed of performing a joint tour, but Michael wasn’t willing to join them, and every time their plan for a reunion on stage hit a dead end. After the Victory Tour, Michael said it would be his last joint project with his brothers. He had rejected the idea of touring alongside his brothers for years—until, in September 2001, he accepted an invitation from David Gest and held two concerts as a celebration of the 30th anniversary of his solo career at Madison Square Garden in New York. Many artists were invited to perform at those two concerts, and after years, Michael showed his first joint performance alongside his brothers.

Tickets for the Unity Tour will go on sale tomorrow. It’s expected that the Jackson 5’s hit songs—I Want You Back, ABC, and I’ll Be There—will be part of the concert, but it’s not yet clear who will perform Michael’s vocals.

“I’m very excited and happy to perform on stage alongside my brothers, and I can’t wait any longer. We’re ready and committed to keep the family legacy alive and perform at the highest quality—with energy and creativity.”
