Reactions to Paris Jackson's Photo Print in People Magazine
Paris's photo print in People magazine, as one of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces in the world in 2012, has sparked reactions.
Paris's photo—which has nearly 322.5 thousand followers on her Twitter—was printed in the section for "No Makeup" faces, and she is one of the eight people who appeared in People magazine without makeup. The other seven, including 32-year-old Zoey Dechanel, are aged between 23 and 45, and with her 14 years of age, Paris is the youngest face in this magazine. Catherine O'Neill from allure.com writes:
"In its annual list of the most beautiful women and young girls, People magazine has printed photos of eight famous people without any makeup. Paris, the late daughter of Michael Jackson, was a great choice because she is only 14 and should be without makeup.
Her face is something we try to achieve with makeup, and she doesn't wear any at all. But this girl is much younger than the others in this list, whose average age is 34. One has to ask: does a 14-year-old teenager even have permission to put makeup on her face?"
Also, Dadi Stewart from jezebel.com writes:
"This issue of People magazine, dedicated to the 100 most beautiful women in the world in 2012, has on its cover a photo of Beyoncé. Inside the magazine, we see more beautiful faces, including a 10-page spread dedicated to faces without makeup. Zoey Dechanel, Paris Jackson,.... They are all beautiful, but their photos were not printed on the cover. Cover photos come with requirements: makeup, hair, lighting and Photoshop!
14-year-old Paris Jackson is breathtaking and captivating. But don't we always see her without makeup? Is the lesson People is giving us that you don't need makeup to be beautiful?"
