Michael Jackson Memorial Statue in Austria
Members of the city council in Mödling, Austria, have agreed to build a memorial statue of Michael Jackson.
Martina Kainz, a 39-year-old fan, presented the idea of creating the sculpture to the city council. For some time now, she has been collecting public donations for the project by launching an website.
The cost of building and installing the statue in the city of 11,000 people is 10,000 euros, and so far half of that amount has been raised.
Martina says: “Michael Jackson is a hero. He influenced the lives of many people. We want to keep his legend alive with a statue we build in our city.”
The statue will be made by sculptor from the Czech Republic, Daniel Kartakova.
