Latoya Jackson Defends Her Father

you read that Michael Jackson’s father had started producing and selling perfume and cologne in memory of his son. Joe’s move was described by many as exploiting Michael’s name and fame. Joe Jackson had promoted his products at the Cannes Festival and also at this year’s Grammy ceremony.

In an interview, Latoya—Michael’s sister—criticized her father’s critics and said that Joe Jackson is, after all, Michael’s father, and if he weren’t there, Michael wouldn’t be either. Latoya says fans should not be discouraged from buying these products. She believes: “If Michael were there, he would have allowed his father to do something like this.”

The Michael Jackson Foundation has not issued permission for the production of these products, and the company Bravado—which holds exclusive rights to produce Michael’s products—has taken legal action against Joe.

In the past, Michael had spoken about his father’s mistreatment of him as a child. He did not support his father, but he paid a monthly allowance to his mother. According to his will, his mother Katherine and his three children, along with a few charitable organizations, are his only heirs, and the foundation has no responsibility toward Joe Jackson.
