Thriller: The Best Music Video of All Time

Michael Jackson’s Thriller has been selected by musicradar.com, three decades after its release, as the best music video of all time.

This 14-minute film, directed by John Landis in 1983, became the most expensive film of its time, thanks to the half a million dollars spent on its production. In this short film, Michael transforms into a werewolf and a zombie, and dances alongside the dead rising from their graves.

Landis said:

“Michael told me that he wanted to make a film in which he would turn into a monster. He was still living with his parents, and the production cost of this video was very high.”

Michael said about Thriller that he was tired of pointless videos and wanted to create a short film with a beginning, a story, and an ending for the song Thriller. The Thriller video built a bridge between the music industry and filmmaking and forever changed the face of music.
