California Medical Board Summons Arnold Klein

Arnold Klein’s name came up again and again in the Michael Jackson murder case by Conrad Murray’s defense lawyers. They claimed that Arnold Klein, a dermatologist, was injecting Michael with the painkiller Demerol. In the end, Arnold Klein was kept out of the murder case, but the medical board does not intend to ignore him. Klein received a summons from this organization stating that he must present himself on December 15 for investigations and review, and to attend a hearing. Documents that were submitted to the court by Murray’s defense team against Arnold Klein but were left unused indicate that Dr. Klein injected Michael Jackson with 775 milligrams of Demerol—far more than the standard dose—for a series of skin treatments over three days in April 2009. Murray’s lawyers said that Demerol dependency was the cause of Michael Jackson’s insomnia. Michael used propofol, which Murray’s doctor injected, to treat his insomnia.
