This has always been a rumor and a dream: a film about Michael Jackson’s life!
It seems this dream is slowly becoming reality. The Michael Jackson Foundation has approached Montecito Pictures to discuss the idea of making a film about the peak years of Michael Jackson. The idea is still in its early stages and no contract has been signed yet. So far, two films produced by this company—Ray and Walk the Line—based on the lives of two musicians, Ray Charles and Johnny Cash, have earned Academy Awards for their actors (respectively) Jamie Foxx and Reese Witherspoon.
Now the Foundation’s main focus is the Michael Jackson Immortal Tour. So there’s no rush to sign a film contract, but hearing rumors about a movie based on Michael’s extraordinary life for the silver screen is enough to get Hollywood’s elite moving.
The main challenge for the film is finding the answer to this question: who will be the actor capable of playing Michael Jackson? Portraying Michael Jackson could be tempting for any actor.
