The Michael Jackson Foundation has released the following statement regarding the announcement of the maximum sentence for Conrad Murray: “Michael Jackson’s death was a terrible blow to his children, his family, and his fans around the world. The jury determined that responsibility for Michael’s untimely death lies with Conrad Murray. Dr. Murray did not express any regret or remorse about Mr. Jackson’s death—both in his pre-trial remarks and afterward. The Michael Jackson Foundation believes that the punishment the judge imposed on Conrad Murray is necessary and appropriate. Dr. Murray’s medical care of Michael Jackson was sufficiently bad and evident, but when it was accompanied by his efforts and disgusting lies to conceal his mistakes at the time of Michael’s death and afterward, it only caused his guilt to grow even more.
