A Look Inside the Home Where Michael Jackson Died (Video)

Jeff Rosen from NBC was able, along with his cameraman, to take an exclusive tour of this vast property, where Darren Julien, the manager of Julien’s Auctions, was prepared to host him.
Julien is putting up for sale the items left behind from Michael Jackson at this house. The prices of these items rise to several times their real value because of their connection to the King of Pop.
Traces of Michael Jackson can be seen throughout this enormous mansion. The first thing that catches Rosen’s attention as soon as he reaches the top of the stairs is a piano. He says Michael had collected all kinds of pianos.
A little further on is Michael’s private room. Private in the literal sense of the word. No one—not even Michael’s children, personal assistants, or security guards—was allowed to enter this room.
Rosen says that for a man of such stature in the entertainment world, there was no sign of a huge flat-screen television. Michael had an old television set in his room.
One of the most valuable items in this auction is a wooden cabinet located in this room. Michael had written a message to himself on the cabinet’s mirror, so that every time he looked at his reflection in the mirror, he could read the note—which shows that the This Is It tour was on his mind.
“Practice, perfection, March April, full practice. Me.”
Rosen then goes to a private bathroom that only Michael used. He had drawn a series of symbols on a wooden board. This board will also be sold.
Rosen then visits a hidden room behind the bathroom that looks like a storage area, and then enters the room where Michael died. Rosen says the bed in this room—on which Michael died—will be sold at auction. (1)
Jeff Rosen also visits Michael’s children’s room. Apparently, it’s not only Michael who left his mark on this house. Prince had carved his name into a candle, and in the kitchen there is a blackboard where the kids had written messages for their father:
“Daddy, I love you, smile, it’s free.”
This mansion did not belong to Michael, and the homeowner has no relationship with him or the Jackson family. Michael had rented this house with all its furnishings. Two years after his death, in addition to 600 items of furniture, the mansion itself was also put up for sale for $20 million. Julien’s Auctions and the homeowner share in the profits from the sale of the furniture.
