An Interesting Behind-the-Scenes Report From Michael Jackson’s Unforgettable Tour

A reporter from the U.S. network ABC has gone behind the scenes of Cirque du Soleil to prepare a report on Michael Jackson’s unforgettable tour.

Cameron Mathison says that the Cirque du Soleil artists have created a full-scale show packed with the kind of music that all of us love, to celebrate the unique legacy of the King of Pop.

Mathison speaks with Travis Payne, one of the tour’s 10 choreographers, and learns some of the dance moves from him as well. He also gets to see the tour costumes and the stage setup. Little Michael the robot is one of the biggest surprises on stage.

Mathison asks Payne whether the court case currently underway in Los Angeles has affected the production process of the shows. Travis says he doesn’t think so, because Michael was always used to seeing the “half-full glass,” and they have followed the same approach. Michael would pull the best out of the worst, and Travis says the unforgettable tour is a light that shines out of darkness.

Kevin Antones, who has arranged the show’s powerful music, says he sits among the people and sees different reactions—excitement, sadness, and respect. He says Michael Jackson’s musical legacy will last until the end of this world.

Mathison compares himself backstage to a child in a candy shop. He tries on the tour outfits, and at the end, with a handcuff in his hand that has a strange gun-like device attached to it, he makes his escape.
