Addiction Was Not the Cause of the Insomnia
Dr. Allan Metzger, the physician who treated Michael for about two decades, testified yesterday in court that Michael Jackson had been dealing with insomnia for more than 15 years.
He said the cause of this insomnia was not the painkiller Demerol, but the work pressure resulting from holding concerts.
Jermain Jackson, Michael’s brother, also mentioned this on Twitter, saying that during the tour Michael would develop insomnia. He wrote that in other cases, Michael could sleep well.
Jermain said that Michael had been preparing for the This Is It tour since fall 2008, and that his insomnia problem worsened in February 2009.
Conrad Murray’s defense attorneys have consistently claimed that Demerol was the cause of Michael’s chronic insomnia.
