A Beautiful Note by Jonathan Moffett About Michael Jackson: “A Guardian Angel Among Us”

Jonathan Moffett (with the nickname Shogunfoot) is the drummer of the band on Michael Jackson’s never-ending tour—Cirque du Soleil. He participated in Michael Jackson’s tours, including This Is It, as well as his memorial ceremony in July 2009. Moffett had released a song as a gift to Michael on the second anniversary of his death, which you read about in this page.

Last Wednesday, a recorded audio tape of Michael Jackson speaking to his doctor, Conrad Murray, was played in court as part of the murder case. In the tape, Michael says he wants to build a hospital for the children of the world with the income from the This Is It tour. Jonathan Moffett, like all of us, has been deeply affected by the fact that, despite all his pain and problems, Michael was still thinking about helping the world and human beings. He wrote the following note:

“Now you know? You who doubted him… you who accused him… you who trampled on his feelings… you who couldn’t understand… you who mocked him, judged him, condemned him, and hunted him. You drained his strength. Do you see what you did? After you heard that audio tape yesterday… a voice that spoke from within his heart and soul.

Even then, when he was influenced and controlled by the forces that had put him in such a situation, he was still thinking about helping others. He devoted his future, his life, his heart, his mind, and his soul to meeting the needs of people who were suffering.

From a loving, noble man, you heard this… ‘My children!’… ‘My children!’… ‘I have to help them.’… ‘They need help.’… ‘I want to help them.’… ‘I love them all.’

Surely he is like an angel. A kind man who lived among us and worked hard. He empathized with others and felt compassion for them. Can you finally see this beautiful man, this remarkable human being? Truly and honestly, it must be said: he is extraordinary!

He was an angel among us who carried out God’s command behind the cameras and away from the noise. He acted according to God’s will.

His hopes and wishes were recorded in secret (by his doctor), even though it was done out of betrayal and malice.

You who doubted him… now be kind to the person who showed you compassion and mercy.

Now, help is no longer available to those he cared about. Children all around the world—those who needed him. Those who had no hope left for them were waiting for his help and kindness. But this will never happen again. Therefore, they will continue to suffer because their ‘guardian angel’ was taken away from them due to neglect.”
