Tickets Go on Sale for Michael Jackson’s Immortal Tour

Pre-sales for Cirque du Soleil tickets with a Michael-inspired theme—or under its original name, “Michael Jackson Immortal Tour”—begin today. Public sales will start on March 12. After Michael’s death, Cirque du Soleil, through a contract, obtained permission from his Foundation to create a show based on the King of Pop’s songs, dance, art, and stage directing style. These shows will go on stage toward the end of this year.

As the work progresses and public interest grows, Cirque du Soleil has added more directors to the team working on this tour, and the number of shows has increased as well. According to an announcement made today, 17 new cities have been added to the list of hosts for this tour, and the number of shows planned for more than 25 North American cities has also increased.

The first show of the Immortal Tour—serving as an unveiling of this exciting and entertaining event—will take place on October 2 in Montreal, Canada.

Another piece of news today is that Gregg Fielding, Michael’s collaborator on many works—including the album Immortal—has joined the tour as the music director. He was the music director for Michael’s Bad and Dangerous tours, and he also worked on Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, Invincible, and the recent global #1 album “Michael.”

Kevin Antunes, one of the most prominent designers in the musical theater industry, has also joined Cirque du Soleil’s creative team. Antunes has worked with people such as Madonna, Janet Jackson (Michael’s sister), Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Aerosmith, and many others.
