Michael Jackson’s message to tsunami victims
If Michael Jackson were among us today, he would have released a statement to comfort the victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami from Friday in Japan. The text that follows is one he wrote in December 2004 for tsunami victims in Indonesia.
My family and I offer our prayers and condolences to the families and friends who lost their loved ones as a result of the terrible earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia, India, Somalia, and the rest of the Asian countries. Our love is also extended to those who survived this tragedy, and to those who are bravely helping the victims in those areas. We pray that you will be strong, safe, and successful in this journey. Words cannot adequately express my sorrow, grief, and fear at seeing the news about the devastation and killings. This has been especially painful for me, because I have visited these countries many times and I remember the love, kindness, and closeness of the people there. If you will allow me, I would like to ask my friends and fans to help relief organizations. It is in times like these that we need one another. We must come together. God bless you and keep you.
With respect — Michael Jackson.
