A Festival in a Mask: Create a Clip for Behind The Mask

Michael Jackson’s music videos are unique, creative, and entertaining. With his work, he pushed the boundaries of how music clips are made even further. In honor of Michael’s contributions to the entertainment world’s culture—and the bridge he built between film and music— the Michael Jackson Foundation and Sony have organized a music video festival.

They have asked people to create their own creative clip for the song Behind The Mask and upload it to the internet.

The festival opens on March 7 – 16 Esfand, and fans from all over the world will join together to take part in this project.

By visiting http://behindthemask.michaeljackson.com and with guidance from the creative team at Radical Media and director Denis Leva, participants can take on a role using a simple online tool.

At the beginning, users must choose a dance move, a beat from the song, or a group move. They can design a Moonwalk, an anti-gravity lean, or standing on the tip of their own special foot, and then—using the multi-part screen template available on the site as well as their own webcam—display and save their dance on the website.

After all users finish their work, the director will select the best clip entries and compile them into a video for Behind The Mask, which will be shown during the first week of April.

Denis Leva is an award-winning digital filmmaker. Radical Media is also a global company that produces some of the most creative music clips.
