Prosecutors Sue the Defense Lawyers to Court

A prosecutor in the case dealing with Michael Jackson’s murder says that the defense team of the accused doctor, Conrad Murray, has not cooperated with them. They have not shared their witness list, their defense plan, or the information they have. Ms. Prosecutor Deborah Brazil, during a session yesterday, asked the judge to postpone the trial while stating this reason. Judge Michael Pastor, after hearing the prosecutor’s request, told the lawyers that he shares the prosecutor’s concern. Although he agreed to an early trial date at the lawyers’ request, he does not intend to hold a trial without sufficient information. Without changing the trial date (April 8), the judge warned the lawyers that if this process continues, they will be fined and, under the law, they will even be barred from calling witnesses to testify in court to defend the accused. The defense team said that an anesthesia specialist from Dallas, with experience in the propofol branch, is their most important witness, but they have not yet been able to provide a report to them. Defense attorney Michael Flanagan says they believe Michael had an addiction to Demerol and that Murray did not cause his death.
