Interview with Michael Jackson’s Children and Katherine on Good Morning America (With Download Link)

Yesterday, a recorded video of Michael’s children alongside their grandmother aired on the U.S. ABC morning show “Good Morning America.” The video was filmed at the Los Angeles homeless shelter. The kids were there as representatives of Heal The World, spending time with the children at the shelter. According to the show host, Robin Roberts; Prince, Michael’s 14-year-old son, is a member of the board of the Heal The World Foundation.
Meanwhile, the Michael Jackson Foundation denies any connection to this foundation and has sued the organization for illegal use of Michael Jackson’s name, and the legal dispute between them has not yet been resolved. In a statement read during this TV program, they said:
“Today’s Heal The World has no connection to the Michael Jackson charitable foundation that gave life to many people and stopped its activities years before his death. The Michael Jackson Foundation believes that Michael’s children should not be used for the benefit of an organization that, according to the court, has no connection to Michael Jackson.”
The show host says that, regardless of the legal disputes, Michael’s children are continuing his path:
“We want to continue our father’s path— for example, helping kids around the world and animals that can’t speak.”
According to some, this interview was arranged by Howard Mann, Katherine Jackson’s business partner, who is also involved in a legal case with the Foundation. Howard Mann says Katherine Jackson has the right to make decisions about certain contracts related to Michael, but the Foundation does not grant her that right, and that is ridiculous. Katherine Jackson is prohibited from any involvement in Michael’s professional and financial affairs, based on a court order and on Michael’s will, which appointed John Branca and John McClain as administrators of the Foundation.
Apart from the annoying comments by the show host, who never missed a moment to say “These kids are really normal,” and setting aside any possible intentions of the Heal The World organization to exploit Michael’s children, or any possible use by Howard Mann of this program to make the Foundation’s activities look legitimate, what Prince, Paris, and Blanket showed in this interview would certainly make their father proud.

Robin Roberts addresses Prince: Oh my God, how did you get so tall all of a sudden?
Prince laughs: Hi, I’m Prince. Nice to meet you.
Roberts describes Michael’s children like this:
“They’re taller than I thought, and also broader. They’re the most famous kids in the world. They’re very attached to their father and continue his path, which was about helping and giving. Today they are here on behalf of the Heal The World organization at the Los Angeles homeless shelter.
(A $10,000 check from Heal The World and Vintage Pop, Howard Mann’s company, will be donated to this center.)
Roberts addresses Katherine: Mrs. Jackson, when I look at your grandkids, I can see how well-behaved and kind they are.
Roberts: They’re really normal kids. Along with an iPod (Prince), a yellow nail polish (Paris), and a favorite doll (Blanket).

Talking with Katherine and the kids
Katherine: We’re doing well. It’s been almost two years and things are good. Every hour I think about my son—it’s very hard... He loved children and always wanted to help them. Michael had a big heart. People didn’t understand him and made up lies about him. He was hurt a lot by those bad and evil people. When I think about these things, I feel different. But still, he was self-controlled and didn’t hold grudges.
(Roberts: He would have been very happy to see his children following his path too.)
Katherine: They’ve done very well in school.
Roberts asks Prince: What’s your favorite subject at school?
Prince: Sports and lunch.
Paris raises her hand: Me too.
Roberts laughs: I knew it, I knew it.
Roberts asks Paris: Do you want to become an actress?
Paris: Yes, I have an acting test next week.
Katherine: We signed her up for a school play. She’s very excited about it.
Paris: Yeah, Prince has a part too!
Roberts: What is it?
Prince: Basketball, at the end of this season.
Paris: He’s a giant.
(laughter)
Roberts: What is Blanket holding in your hand?
Blanket hides his toy behind his back mischievously: Nothing!!!
(group laughter)
Roberts laughs: They’re ready for the entertainment industry.
Roberts asks Prince: What are your plans for the future?
Prince: In this industry, I’m waiting for a few opportunities—more in the area of producing films.
(Roberts: That’s the passion he inherited from Michael.)
Katherine: Michael was interested in this and supported it. They had classes that... Prince, you say.
Prince: One time a UC-LA professor came to our house to teach filmmaking. We went to Ireland and made a few films with him.
Roberts: So you have experience with this, and you’re continuing it now.
Katherine: Sometimes Blanket and Paris dress up and act in their brother’s films. One of the reasons they’ve chosen to do this is that Michael himself was interested in filmmaking.
(Roberts: Michael’s life was full of controversy, and unfortunately these controversies continued even after his death. Howard Mann and the Heal The World charity are both involved in a legal dispute with the Michael Jackson Foundation.)
(A conversation with Howard Mann is aired, and the host reads the Foundation’s statement.)
Roberts asks Prince: What are you looking to do at this organization?
Prince: The same thing our father did. Helping kids around the world and animals that can’t speak."
Roberts: What about you, Paris?
Paris: Me too.
(Blanket reacts mischievously to his sister’s words.)

At the end of the show, the host, holding Katherine Jackson’s memorial book for her son Michael “Never Can Say Goodbye,” says:
“Inside the center, Paris also had this book in her hands, and the kids there were looking at the photos in the book and saying, ‘Oh... Michael Jackson! Did you know Michael Jackson?’ They didn’t even know he was Michael’s daughter. And the kids want the same thing—that they can take part in activities like this and do whatever they can for other kids.
