Catherine Jackson sues AEG
Catherine Jackson, Michael’s mother, has filed a lawsuit against AEG, the company responsible for organizing Michael Jackson’s This Is It concerts in London, accusing it of negligence in caring for her child’s health.
The lawsuit alleges that despite being aware of Dr. Murray’s improper care and treatments of Michael, the company did not take any action to stop the process. It also states that for a monthly salary of $150,000, the company hired Murray to prepare Michael for the concerts and keep him alert and in good condition.
Catherine accuses the company of negligence and fraud. Her lawyer says Murray’s request to the company to provide a heart-rate monitoring device and place it in Michael’s home meant that Murray’s actions could have led to respiratory arrest and heart damage—showing that the company was likely aware of the danger and unusual nature of Dr. Murray’s actions.
