Filming the Hold My Hand Video

On Monday, a scene with a spiritual theme was filmed for a new video being made for the song Hold My Hand. A plane hangar in Tustin, California was used as the location, and nearly 200 die-hard fans of the King of Pop were there. They stood outside the hangar waiting. When the hangar doors opened, it was filled with darkness, and there was a bright light at the end. People were asked to walk toward that light as a symbol of the journey to heaven. They danced freely in front of the cameras to the song, and while shouting "We love you, Michael," they released white balloons into the air. A little girl was dressed as an angel. Earlier, in a letter published on Michael Jackson’s official website, fans of all ages were asked to volunteer to take part in this video. It was also stated that appearing in the video would not be paid, but it would be fun and a tribute to Michael Jackson’s legacy. The letter said filming would take place on November 20, but if it rained, November 21 and 22 would be considered instead. It has been said that the video will be shown on ABC on December 6—the same day that Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Teddy Riley, one of the producers of Michael’s new album, airs. With the credibility and respect he has in the music industry and among fans, Teddy Riley has, for many, acted like water on the fire amid the recent controversies surrounding Michael’s album.
