Mizrao: Jury’s Lack of Interest in Convicting Doctors

Thomas Mesero, Michael’s senior defense attorney during his 2005 trial, said that jurors typically have no interest in convicting doctors, and that it might not be so easy to send the accused doctor who killed Michael to prison.

“Remember the doctor who was accused of killing Elvis Presley and was acquitted a few years ago? In my opinion, jurors are not inclined to issue a verdict against doctors unless there is clear abuse of authority or criminal behavior.”

Michael Jackson’s fans have taken a clear stance against Dr. Conrad Murray, but Mesero says that behind closed doors, everything is different, and that tough days may be ahead for prosecutors and their assistants.
