Freedman: June 25 Is the Day the Vultures Take Flight
Ian Halperin is a familiar and ominous name for Michael Jackson fans. According to Roger Freedman, he is a weak-minded scandal-monger. On the anniversary of Michael’s death, he will be showing a documentary about him titled Gone Too Soon on the TV Guide network.
Roger Freedman addresses this issue in an article. He writes that the vultures have taken flight so they can catch their first prey on June 25. Ian Halperin had spread many rumors about Michael during Michael’s lifetime in the media, and their falsehood was revealed at the time. After Michael’s death last year, he wrote a book full of lies about Michael, which was met with a wave of boycotts by his fans.
Freedman writes:
“In his new film, he interviews people of the fourth degree who were connected to the outer circle of Michael’s employees about his personal life. In this documentary, there is no trace of Michael’s music or art, and there is no one who truly knows Michael.”
Fans on Michael’s internet fan sites have started a wave to prevent the film from being shown on television.
“Also on June 25, a book by Leonard Ro will hit the market. Leonard Ro was previously a concert producer, and before Michael’s death, with the help of his father, he intended to take control of the London concerts as the so-called manager of Michael Jackson—without Michael giving him an official position.”
“Joe Jackson and Leonard Ro called me a few weeks before Michael’s death to help them achieve their goal: getting Leonard Ro appointed as Michael’s fake manager. I hung up.”
After some time, Michael issued a statement that later reached the media, warning Leonard Ro that he had never hired him. Freedman says:
“Leonard Ro was fired from this side of the paper with Michael’s signature. And now he intends to tell the story from his own point of view in his book.”
Roger Freedman wrote about Leonard Ro’s book:
The book, titled “What Really Happened to Michael Jackson, King of Pop?” is a funny one. He blames the concert company, AEG, for Michael’s murder. My favorite part is where he says, “Many people didn’t know that Michael owned 50% of Sony’s catalog.” Leonard Ro! I don’t think there’s anyone who doesn’t know that. This really isn’t a secret.”

Brian Oxman is another person whom Freedman calls a vulture. He does his own actions without being connected to Michael’s team.
“Brian Oxman, who has become Joe Jackson’s spokesperson, is also trying to file a lawsuit against AEG and portray them as responsible for Michael’s death. In December of last year, the California Supreme Court warned Brian Oxman for the second time within a few years about his problematic conduct, and he was required to complete a legal training course.”
Oxman, who was one of Michael’s lawyers in 2005, was fired from the team by Michael’s senior lawyer, Thomas Mesereau, after he fell asleep during the proceedings.
