Randy’s effort to let fans gather at his brother’s grave

Randy Jackson, Michael’s younger brother, is trying via Twitter to get permission for fans to gather at his brother’s grave on the first anniversary of his death. He wrote on his Twitter page: “I’m meeting with Forest Lawn officials and the city of Glendale (in Los Angeles). Although it has strict rules, I’m doing everything I can so that fans can visit on June 25 and pay their respects to him.”

Michael, who died at his home in Los Angeles on June 25, was buried in a private cemetery in the Forest Lawn Park in September. Only family members and friends whose details have been reported to the Forest Lawn security are allowed to visit the King of Pop’s grave.

Clark Gable’s grandson, whose grave is next to Michael’s, is unhappy with this idea because he believes the presence of fans would destroy the sanctity of the place. But the comedian W.C. Fields’ grandson—who is also buried in the same location—supports Randy’s plan. In his view, the presence of fans at this place and their paying respects is important for the deceased.
