A documentary made about Michael by David Gest

David Gest, a longtime friend of the King of Pop, says that real Michael Jackson is portrayed in a new documentary—what he calls a made-up “popumentary”—titled “The Real Michael Jackson.”

Stars such as Whitney Houston, Smokey Robinson, and Dionne Warwick talk about Michael Jackson in this four-hour television documentary. Gest has also arranged interviews with Michael’s mother, his brother Tito, and his sister Rebbie.

Gest says: “I’ve tried to show Michael in a unique way. Over the past three months, I’ve traveled around the world to interview different people who played the biggest roles in his life. I believe this ‘popumentary’ is both entertaining and shows the real Michael Jackson. I hope it will be considered a lasting document of the compassion and love he had for all of mankind. He was a very complex person, and this special program tells many different aspects of his personality.”

This documentary also includes clips from never-before-seen interviews of Michael and David Gest, which were carried out in 2001 during the celebration concert for the 30th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s solo career. In these clips, Michael is seen laughing and joking. The broadcast time for this documentary has not yet been announced.
