Nevada Medical Board’s Lawsuit Against Murray

As you know, earlier, Nevada Medical Board investigators reported Conrad Murray’s lying when he filled out the application form to renew his medical license in this state. In 2007 and 2009, Murray lied that he had no debt regarding child support payments. The investigators had asked the medical board to impose a penalty for this lying. Following this, the Nevada Medical Board filed a lawsuit against Conrad Murray and submitted it to court. The result of this lawsuit could be the revocation of Conrad Murray’s medical license in Nevada.

Meanwhile, his attorney, Ed Chernoff, said that if the court cancels Murray’s work license, he would not have sufficient financial resources to defend himself in the trial for Michael Jackson’s involuntary manslaughter. He expressed hope that the medical board, by reaching an agreement, would allow Murray to continue practicing in these states. In addition to Nevada, Murray also has the right to practice in Houston and California.

Previously, the California Medical Board had also asked the Los Angeles court to protect the public from future harm by revoking Murray’s license to practice in California due to his incompetence and irresponsible performance in protecting his patient’s life (Michael Jackson). In that lawsuit, it stated:

“The defendant is accused of injecting a lethal amount of propofol into his patient, Michael Jackson, which led to the patient’s death. Due to such unprofessional behavior and endangering a patient’s life, the California Medical Board believes it must act to protect the public from future harm.”
