Murray’s attempt to hide his mistakes

TMZ says that perhaps Dr. Conrad Murray, after committing Michael’s involuntary manslaughter, tried to cover up his mistakes. According to a police report, on June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest and died after being injected with a lethal amount of the anesthetic drug propofol into his leg vein. But Conrad Murray claimed that the injected amount to Michael was very small, at about 2.5 milligrams. Dambroski, an anesthesia specialist who reviewed Michael’s death medical file at the request of the police, says this amount of propofol wouldn’t even put Michael to sleep, let alone kill him. The amount of medication that forensic medicine found in Michael’s body after his death was equal to the amount used in major medical surgeries. In the room where Michael died, a 20-milliliter empty propofol vial was found, but in the same place there was also a hidden compartment full of propofol vials that police discovered a few days after Michael’s death. A 100-milliliter empty propofol vial with a large gap in its cap was among the things found in that room. There are two ways to use the substance inside the vial. One is using a syringe that draws out a small amount of the drug and then connects to a tube for injection into the vein. The second method is breaking off the top of the vial and connecting it directly to the tube, which is used for large injections. Dambroski says that if the second method is used, the doctor must regulate the drug injection by using a balancing pump; otherwise, the patient will be exposed to an overdose easily. No pump for balancing the injection into the vein was found in Michael’s room. Conrad Murray said that after the injection, he left Michael to go to the bathroom. If, after that, the drug had been quickly drained from the vial into Michael’s veins, then the amount injected into him would be 40 times what Murray claimed.
