Drugs Found in Michael’s Home

On Friday, following a request from the Associated Press, more details about the drugs discovered in Michael’s home after his death were released.

Police, on June 29 of last year—four days after Michael died and following a lengthy interview with Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael’s physician—went to the King of Pop’s home in Bel Air, Los Angeles to complete their investigation. In a cabinet Murray had pointed out, they found various medications. Among them were 11 vials containing the anesthetic propofol, some of which were empty, as well as a number of sleeping pills, including items discovered by police.

They also found 19 tubes of hydroquinone and 18 tubes of benzoquinone—topical medications used to treat vitiligo. In vitiligo, skin pigmentation is lost, and these two drugs, with their lightening effect, even out the skin tone. Michael used these medications to treat his vitiligo.
