Tension Between LAPD and the Los Angeles Prosecutor
TMZ says tension has erupted between the Los Angeles police and the city’s prosecutor over Michael’s murder case. The police feel that the prosecutor’s office has ignored them in this case, and as a result, during a private and confidential meeting, they voiced their dissatisfaction to the prosecutor. The prosecutor has left the police chief in a state of uncertainty regarding the arrest and legal pursuit of Conrad Murray. While the arrest warrant for Murray was supposed to be carried out on Wednesday, the prosecutor’s office did not inform the police about the warrant until the end of that day.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Murray’s lawyers, with the prosecutor’s approval, arranged for Murray to go to court with them. The police didn’t like this agreement, because not only was the police’s role in Murray’s arrest completely ignored, but the result of months of police investigation was also disregarded. The outcome of the police and prosecutor’s meeting yesterday was that on Friday morning in Los Angeles, the city police would go to Conrad Murray, handcuff him, and arrest him. They would then take him to city court at 1:30 PM so that the charges against him could be formally read.
