Judge Sets Lawyers’ Fees

John Branca and John McClain had asked the judge, Bacluff, to give them 10% of the profits from the activities they carried out during this period for the Michael Jackson Foundation. The income from the film This Is It, the income from the sale of Michael’s songs, and his song catalog were not part of their request. Yesterday, the judge agreed to this request. Branca and McClain each receive 5% of the profits from the Michael Jackson Foundation’s activities. After many meetings with the lawyers of these two people, Michael’s children and Catherine Jackson, the judge issued his ruling, and neither side objected to this request. Howard Weitzman, the lawyer for Branca and McClain, called the request fair, and Adam Streisand, Catherine’s lawyer, said it was reasonable. He said: “This will be an incentive for the lawyers to develop the foundation’s business, because it will certainly also benefit them.” Bacluff believes in Branca’s capability and ability to lead the Michael Jackson Foundation.
