Jay-Z isn’t interested in the new WATW

Jay-Z, the rapper and Black producer, says We Are The World should not have been remade. In an interview on Saturday, he told MTV that he has no interest in the new version of the song. "I know everybody’s going to misunderstand what I mean. I love this song, I understand what it’s for, and I think it’s great. But for me, We Are The World is like Thriller (another Michael song). I don’t even want to see someone get close to it. I know the problems that exist in Haiti, and I appreciate the efforts of the singers. But We Are The World is untouchable in music, just like Thriller. (The new song) was a brave effort. But the old song is untouchable for me."
