The Gospel according to Michael Jackson

A local priest uses Michael Jackson’s songs to spread faith and belief. The King of Pop wrote many songs about peace, redemption, and hope, and this priest believes we can learn from them. Father Ron Vanderwell, from the Gadring Church in Kitchener, Canada, is teaching “The Gospel according to Michael Jackson.” He says about Michael: “He had a force that people had never seen before.” To draw passersby to the church, Father Vanderwell uses Michael’s dance moves. He truly sees an important message in Michael’s songs. He says Beat It teaches us racial peace. And songs like I’ll Be There contain inspiring lessons about love and commitment within yourself. “The passion to open someone’s heart’s table and the ability to do it shows an eternal bond with that person.” After learning the lessons in church that day, the attendees say “amen.” One of them explains that he can connect with Michael Jackson’s music.
