Michael’s father requests from his lawyers

Michael has given his assets to his three children and several charities, and his mother Catherine also received a share of his assets until her death. According to a court ruling in September, Michael’s lawyers are required to pay Catherine and her children a monthly allowance of about $86,000 from Michael’s assets. Joe Jackson, Michael’s father, through his lawyer Brian Oxman, submitted a request to the court yesterday containing several contradictions, and asked that he also be granted a monthly allowance. The request states that since the death of the King of Pop in June, the lawyers have earned more than $100 million for Michael, and they say they will earn another $100 million by the end of the year. Joe Jackson, who suffers from diabetes, said that before Michael’s death, he supported him and his wife Catherine financially, and provided them with a monthly amount. But the total of the figures mentioned in this request is only slightly more than $15,000. Some of the expenses listed in the request include $1,200 for rent of a house in Las Vegas, $2,500 for restaurants, $1,000 for entertainment, gifts and travel, $2,000 for air travel, and $3,000 for hotel accommodation. It also states that his age is 80 in one place and 81 in another. The request says that Joe Jackson’s situation requires that he be supported, and that Michael, before his death, supported him the way he supported his mother Catherine. The request also claims that since 2000, Michael has been paying his mother about $50,000 per month, which in recent years had increased to $66,000. Joe claims that Michael asked Catherine to also give him part of this allowance. The request delivered to the court says Joe has no income and has depended on Michael’s financial support for years. Joe Jackson filed for bankruptcy in 1998. On Friday, the judge refused to hold an emergency hearing on the matter and postponed it to early 2010. In the months since the death of the music and entertainment legend, sales of his albums and other related items have been doing very well. Michael gave 20% of his wealth to charity, and the rest belongs to his three children, who are currently under Catherine’s guardianship and can use $86,000 per month from their father’s income.
