The claim that the will is fake is baseless

Randy Jackson, Michael’s brother, previously reacted to the claim that the King of Pop signed his will in Los Angeles by saying that on July 7, 2002—the day the will was signed—Michael was in New York. Randy concluded that Michael’s signature was fake. Following Randy’s claim, Howard Weitzman, one of Michael’s lawyers, said that the announcement of the city of Los Angeles as the place where the will was signed was incorrect, and that the will was signed in New York. Weitzman also said that people had witnessed Michael signing the will.

This misunderstanding began because one of the witnesses mistakenly mentioned Los Angeles as the location where the will was signed.

But if, for any reason, this will were to be invalidated, Michael’s 1997 will would replace it—one that has no differences from the current will. According to that will as well, Michael gave 40% of his wealth to his mother, 40% to his child or children, and 20% to charity. Even the name of the lawyer mentioned in the 1997 will hasn’t changed: John Branca. Of course, as mentioned earlier, Catherine will receive Michael’s wealth while she is alive, and after his death, Michael’s children will own 80% of their father’s wealth and assets.
