A Buyer Sues Over Michael’s Memorabilia From His Foundation

A $5 million lawsuit has been filed against the Michael Foundation and Julien’s Auctions. The plaintiff is a person who claims that he submitted the highest bid for Michael Jackson memorabilia and was the winner of the auction. He says that after the auction—scheduled to take place in April of this year—was canceled, these items were not delivered to him. He is now seeking damages for 82 items of merchandise that he won during the auction but did not receive.

Julien’s Auctions responded: “After the auction was canceled, they contacted us and said they were emotionally devastated, and asked us how we would compensate them for their losses. If they are that emotionally devastated, they can wait until November 21 and purchase some memorabilia on that day. Also, before participating in the auction, they agreed to the terms of the contract and were informed about the possibility that the auction could be canceled at any time.”
