A $500,000 lawsuit from Michael’s ex-wife

Deborah (Debbie) Rowe, Michael’s former wife and the mother of two of his three children—12-year-old Michael Jr. and 11-year-old Paris—has sued a woman in Florida who, on a television program, said she had been given custody of Debbie’s two children in exchange for money to Michael. Debbie’s lawyer filed a $490,000 lawsuit with the court last week. A hearing date has been set for November to address the case.

In July, Debbie sued Rebecca White over her statements on the Extra television show. On that show, White introduced herself as Debbie’s close friend and said that Debbie had emphasized in her emails that she was not seeking to obtain custody of the children. Debbie denied the rumor of a friendship relationship and the sending of emails.

In August, a judge granted custody of Michael’s children to their mother, Catherine. Debbie has the right to visit the children, but no money has changed hands.
