Christian Audigier Buys Michael Jackson’s $30 Million Home

Christian Audigier, the highly prominent French multi-millionaire and fashion designer, has bought the $30 million home that Michael lived in until his death, and in the middle of December—after the rental contract for the house ended—he will move in. Michael had rented the home earlier this year. The property is a three-story mansion shaped like French palaces. It has 7 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces, a library, a swimming pool, a modern kitchen, a special guest suite, and a viewing room.

Audigier had a close relationship with Michael, and the two were planning to launch a shared fashion line. After Michael’s death, he put some of their jointly designed clothes on television and said he was in negotiations with Michael’s lawyers to produce these items. Audigier said that, despite his wishes, he couldn’t obtain permission to turn Michael’s final home into a museum, but he wants to open the house to the public every year on Michael’s date of death, June 25, and put on a show or performance there.

The house was previously owned by Audigier’s partner and the head of his fashion company, Hubert Guez. He says: "Michael was in an extraordinary physical condition. He was very thin, but he was a great dancer. He was deeply involved in the London concert work. What happened was very upsetting. He was very happy to return to the stage." Audigier was in France yesterday for the opening of his fashion show and couldn’t attend Michael’s funeral. He expressed deep regret and said: "I’ll miss him terribly. God bless him."
