A surge in demand crashed the ticket-selling website

A website set up to sell tickets for the Michael Jackson memorial event in Vienna, Austria, went down due to an influx of internet users.

The idea of holding the event in Vienna was proposed by Jermaine Jackson, Michael’s brother. Ticket sales for the September 26 event were set to begin at 11:00 a.m., with 85,000 tickets available. But about half an hour before ticket sales were scheduled to start, the site crashed due to extremely heavy traffic. More than one million people have requested tickets for this event. Ticket prices range from $85 to $712. The event is expected to be held in a palace belonging to the 17th century. Jermaine said he chose this location because of Michael’s interest in such buildings.
